Marking 40 Years of Roe v. Wade
It is painful to recognize that January 22, 2013 is the 40-year anniversary of the infamous Roe v. Wade decision which gave us abortion on demand throughout pregnancy. Such an anniversary is cause for reflection, prayer and commemoration of all of those who have died or been injured from abortion. Seldom has our nation experienced such harm to so many, and such a grave abuse of human rights. So many dead, so many injured, our society deeply impacted by the loss of God’s creations.
In commemoration of the more than 53 million lives lost to abortion during the last 40 years, Wisconsin Right to Life is sponsoring a Concert for Life. We will join together in reflection and prayer to remember the lost and injured. We will lift our spirits in song as we recognize the tireless efforts made by the right-to-life community to reverse the tragedy that is Roe v. Wade. This commemoration will not be a fund-raiser, and will not be political.
If you have been part of the right-to-life movement in Wisconsin or elsewhere, if you've been a volunteer, a donor, a pro-life prayer warrior, or even if up until now you've been a right-to-life supporter from the side-lines, this special commemorative Concert for Life is for you!
The concert will begin at 6:45 p.m. on Friday evening, January 11, 2013 in the main auditorium at Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin. In addition to times of prayer and reflection offered by individuals of various faiths, the event will feature two world-class musical acts: The Grammy-nominated Christian rock band Sanctus Real and Country Music star and outspoken right-to-life advocate Collin Raye.
Chart-topping, Dove Award-winning Christian rock performers Sanctus Real are perhaps best know for their hit Lead Me, an anthem for men who desire to stand up for their wives and children with God's help. Country music superstar and out-spoken right-to-life advocate, Collin Raye has had 21 singles reach the Billboard Top 10 chart and has sold over eight million albums including his Number 1 hits, Love, Me; In This Life; My Kind of Girl; and I Can Still Feel You. Whether you know these artists or not, be a fan for life and attend! This will truly be an amazing evening.
Tickets are $30 (Gold Circle) and $20 (General Admission).

Tickets are also available at the Elmbrook Church Bookstore.

Our bi-annual Wisconsin Right to Life Legislative Conference will be held on Tuesday, February 12 at the Inn on the Park in Madison (directly across from our beautiful State Capitol). You'll receive all the tools and information you need to help in the enactment of new Wisconsin laws that will save lives!
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the Conference itself will begin at 9:00 a.m. We will begin the day with a BIG delicious breakfast. Short workshops will follow, presented by key state legislators and right-to-life leaders to fill you in on the legislation we will be promoting and to give you helpful tips on how to lobby your legislators. We'll head to the Capitol around 11:00 a.m. to meet with your legislators. Your appointment with your legislators will be prearranged for you and our staff will help direct you to their offices.

Doctor-Prescribed Suicide in America in 2013
Doctor-prescribed suicide, also know as assisted suicide, suffered a huge blow when residents of Massachusetts defeated a measure to legalize in that state by a 51-49% margin on November 6. Undaunted, pro-euthanasia forces, led by Compassion and Choices (C & C), are moving into numbers of states with renewed, vigorous efforts to find more states like Oregon and Washington where this deadly act can become legal.
Vermont: Vermont is always on the bubble with legislation to legalize introduced in every legislative session. The day after the November 6 defeat in Massachusetts, Patient Choices at End of Life — Vermont announced in a letter to supporters that it “will achieve our goal of getting the Death with Dignity bill enacted in Vermont.” Vermont’s Governor has already placed this bill high on his list of priorities.
Connecticut: A bill to legalize will be introduced early in 2013, but it is not known how strongly it will be pushed.
Hawaii: Hawaii faces legislation to legalize every two years and 2013 will be no exception. While publicly arguing that doctor-prescribed suicide is already legal in Hawaii, C & C will push for a law to be enacted.
New Jersey: New Jersey could face legislation and/or a ballot measure to legalize.
New Mexico: A court case asking this state to legalize is pending.
Massachusetts: Defeated at the ballot and stymied in the legislature, C & C may try to legalize through the courts.
Montana: A 2009 Montana Supreme Court decision has left the situation here murky, with C & C claiming doctor-prescribed suicide is now legal, and opponents voicing strong disagreement. There may be legislation introduced in 2013 both to legalize and to prohibit.
Wisconsin Right to Life will continue its work with a diverse coalition to defeat these measures wherever they arise.

Planned Parenthood Forcing Affiliates to Perform Abortions — Bah Humbug
At a time when most observe the most profound unplanned pregnancy and birth of all time, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is busy hammering its affiliates to perform abortions. In the works for three years, 2013 is the year where PPFA affiliates must comply with its abortion mandate. Some are not going along like lemmings. The latest affiliate to cut ties is Planned Parenthood of South Central New York (PPSCNY) which wants to focus on real health care for women, not performing abortions. The first affiliate to drop ties was Planned Parenthood of South Texas.
You may not know that PPFA’s Action Fund spent millions of advertising dollars during the presidential campaign branding itself as a woman’s health care organization which provides breast exams and pap smears to low income women. Strategically picking an audience receptive to its message, PP sold the idea that under Romney women would be denied health care, birth control, equal pay for equal work, etc. The word “abortion” was avoided, as PP knows Americans continue to be uncomfortable with abortion on demand and wants to hide its extensive work as the nation’s abortion giant.
Here are the facts:
-- PPFA is the nation’s largest abortion provider, performing 330,000 abortion each year.
-- At around $400/abortion, PPFA receives $132 million each year from abortions, making it an enormous cash cow for the PPFA business plan.
-- Abortion accounts for 31% of PPFA income and 91% of its “services” to pregnant women.
-- By forcing its affiliates to perform abortions, PPFA is clearly attempting to corner the abortion market even more significantly.
-- PPFA aggressively opposes any and all restrictions on abortion, refusing to recognize the interests of taxpayers, families, and even the women it claims to serve.
Bah humbug PPFA says to its affiliates. Comply — or else.
